THE STORY

The month of March is dedicated to women.
Women who have broken barriers. Women who are breaking barriers. And young women and girls who will break barriers. It is with this reflection of past, present and future that this collection was created.

In early March, we asked leaders to have an honest dialogue about female representation and empowerment. Attendees included: Alicia Gonzalez, Executive Director of Cubs Charities; Mariya Chukas, Girls in the Game alum; Laura Ricketts, Cubs Board Member and Cubs Charities Board Chair; Kate Lynn Lewis, Chicago-based muralist; and Colin Faulkner, Cubs Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer.

KATE LYNN LEWIS

THE ARTIST

Kate Lynn Lewis is a Chicago based artist focused on large scale mural installations and illustrative design. Her work can be found in cities throughout the U.S., on the exteriors and interiors of municipal structures, arenas, offices, restaurants, and residences. Her branded client portfolio includes names like Jameson, YETI, Jack Daniels, Google, the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and more.

Lewis’s style is best recognized by her clean and hard lines, bold use of color, and emphasis on both architectural elements and the female form. Lewis is passionate about inspiring artists and non-artists alike to gain confidence in creating. She references her background in math and business as an acknowledgement that it’s never too late to pursue a creative path.
